Marilyn Rose earned her BFA from Washington University in St. Louis as a Fred Conway Fine Arts Fellow. During the past decade she rediscovered the world of fine arts studying with preeminent watercolorists such as Mel Stabin, Charles Reid, Jean Uhl Spicer and Marge Chavooshian. Roses paintings have won awards in numerous juried exhibitions. Her one-woman shows continue to meet with critical acclaim.
While at first glance her watercolors appear to be simple still-lifes or landscapes, they have been described as spontaneous and vibrant profusions of color which transcend the traditional use of the medium. Her paintings explore the tension between the abstract and figurative, as well as the power of water and pigment and the allure of the creative process which becomes transparent in her work.
Marilyn lives in New Jersey with her husband and three teenage sons. Her award-winning graphics firm
