Launching Watercolor 101!

There is nothing that gives me more of a thrill than introducing someone to watercolors for the first time and seeing them fall in love with the medium…. I realize I miss that experience now that I have been teaching my ongoing classes, remotely, on ZOOM.

In a live class, I would simply pull new students aside while others are painting and give them some of the basic concepts of the medium. If they are frustrated by inferior student-grade supplies (Cotman, Grumbacher, Artist Loft) they have previously purchased, I let them try my paints and paper to see the difference and help them understand that sometimes their problems have to do with working with inadequate supplies….. or even with a large and unruly pre-made set of colors that come in a cheap set..

With my online classes, I have reluctantly turned away people who have never dipped their toes into watercolor.

But what if I could do a few entry level classes….. and make sure they have the exact supplies…. without leaving their house. VOILA! My Watercolor 101 answers the needs. Starting in December (and maybe even monthly or bi-monthly after that) I will offer a 2-class series to introduce new students to watercolor… (or perhaps other students to MY approach to the medium.) And the best thing is that when they sign up, the price of the class will include a sampler set of QUALITY watercolor supplies.

I am very excited about this new endeavor…. Please share it with anyone you know who might be interested! Can’t wait to create more watercolor addicts!
